The second season of Gossip Girl, an American teen drama based upon the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar. Developed for television by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Airing on The CW from September 1st 2008 till May 18th 2009 with 25 episodes, including spin-off pilot Valley Girls; focusing on Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford/Brittany Snow) and her family in Los Angeles in 1983.
The series revolves around the lives of privileged teenagers Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Dan Humphrey, Nate Archibald, Jenny Humphrey and Chuck Bass attending an elite private school on Manhattan's Upper East Side in New York City. It also features Serena’s mother; Lily van der Woodsen and Jenny and Dan’s father; Rufus Humphrey along with outsider from Vermont Vanessa Abrams.
It's senior year for our beloved Upper East Siders, and the drama is at an all-time high. Applying for college is only a small part of the story, as new romances (and some not-so-new romances) bloom and fade, scandals erupt at every turn, and alliances shift even faster than Gossip Girl can send an update. Families and reputations are destroyed and made; so are fortunes. And even the strongest friendships are tested.
